We’ve just released a new update to the Ender Minecraft server which we’ve been working on behind-the-scenes for quite some time. This update is designed to make the competition experience easier than ever, while also adding some cool new features to make navigation easier and lay the foundation for even more new things that are just around the corner.

New Introductory Tutorial

We want people who are brand new to Ender to get up to speed quickly and get a hands-on experience of what it’s like to join a competition, so we’ve created a brief tutorial for first-time players!

This tutorial walks you through a simulated competition, and when it done you’ll be able to see a list of all the competitions live on Ender and travel to one so you can begin building! If you’re already an experienced Ender user and want to skip the tutorial competition, simply type /submit after building begins.

Traveling With The Void Pearl

We’ve created a shiny new menu that you can use to navigate between different worlds on the server. You can call it the navigation menu! It lets you travel to the lobby, the survival world, or any of the in-progress competitions. You can hover over any of the menu icons to learn more about all of the possibilities.

The navigation menu also lets you know the name of the current season, what week of the season we’re in, and the background will feature new, custom-made pixel art every week! This is just one of many ways we want to bring seasons to life in-game, with more coming in the future.

How will you open this fancy menu, you ask? With the new Void Pearl, of course! We’ll award you with your very own Void Pearl as soon as you complete the tutorial and link your Minecraft account to an Ender account.

If you right-click while holding this item it will open up the new navigation menu and let you pick a destination. You can also open this menu by typing the /go command in chat, and if you lose your pearl by mistake you can recover it at any time with the /pearl command, so don’t be afraid to toss it if you are in need of a little extra room in your inventory.

A Smarter, Easier Competition Experience

We want it to be as easy as possible for you to log in and start competing, so we have made a handful of improvements to the competition experience that we think you’ll love.

First off, the entire competition experience is more 🤖 automatic! You can join competitions through either the in-game navigation menu or the competition pages on joinender.com, and if you’re already logged into the server you’ll be teleported to the competition world immediately!

When you arrive you’ll be placed into a plot instantly, and you can start building! Your build will be protected from any unintended damage from other builders, so you can rest easy knowing your work is safe.
